Overview – Role
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer/Consultant for Middle East to work across the projects based in the countries - UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. This strategic growth position calls for an experienced candidate who can work directly with clients and perform their own technical work. While supporting projects across Middle East , this role will be based in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia .
The Principal Fire Engineer/Consultant will have a well-rounded background in Mechanical and Electrical Fire systems design, review, and construction inspection along with strong analytical skills and business acumen. In this role you will lead & mentor a Mechanical + Electrical Fire systems design, review, and Construction review team of around 12 team members.

Responsibilities
Leading the design and engineering of fire protection systems, including, sprinkler system, suppression systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting and infrastructure distribution for complex projects across Middle East
Leading, coordinating workload, setting standards for reviews, peer reviewing and guiding the team on technical aspects reviews, both design drawings, shop drawings, along with site inspection, commissioning & testing, witnessing and installation inspections, related to Mechanical and Electrical Fire systems.
Guide, lead and mentor a team of 12 fire engineering professionals, advising and delivering complex solutions to large construction engineering projects developing fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client issues.
Lead and manage current and future projects ensuring that financial targets of the Project are met and exceeded, developing existing relationships with key clients and delivering fire safety engineering solutions, conducting Mechanical and Electrical Fire systems design, review and construction inspection
Provide Technical Solutions to Clients & oversee and peer review the work of Engineering staff, maintaining a high level of professional awareness of technical matters in the fire industry, providing updates and briefings as required.
Be the drive behind the delivery of technical excellence, team engagement, and the go-to in developing their key clients, excelling at being the all-important first point of call and lead discussions with the design team, Client and Civil Defense authorities.
Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in fire protection engineering.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, (preferably Electrical/ Mechanical or related field), ideally working towards becoming a Chartered engineer.
12+ years of consultation experience related to Fire Alarms, emergency lighting, sprinklers, suppression systems, fire systems infrastructure distribution, in compliance with local, national, and international codes and standards
Working experience in the Middle East region, leading &coordinating workload, setting standards for reviews, conducting peer reviews and guiding the team on technical aspects for reviews, drawings, site inspection, commissioning and testing witnessing and installation inspections.
Proven experience in leading engineering teams along with proficiency in using engineering software and tools related to fire protection design including AutoCAD and Revit
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and able to undertake work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
