Parsons Corporation Senior Marine Ecology Environment Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Marine Ecology Environment Manager to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for the development and implementation of a Marine Ecology and Environmental Management Program . Ensuring compliance with the environmental standards and policies, stakeholder and authority requirements, regulations and laws. Reports directly to the Project Director.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage, coordinate, develop and review ongoing and future environmental studies, management plans, projects and programs to ensure alignment with the vision, mission and business needs.

  • Work with the design and build consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with the environment standards and policies, stakeholder and authority requirements, regulations and laws.

  • Coordinate with delivery partners, as well all existing consultants and contractors, and participate in future planned evaluation, procurement and award of major consultants and contractor scopes of work.

  • Develop, plan and implement environmental management strategies and approaches in accordance with the Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process, and environmental permits issued by KSA environmental regulators. Input into development of future ESIAs in order to gain approval for major marine works to proceed successfully on site.

  • Lead the implementation and application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts, ensuring compliance and consistency across the project.

  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas, leading in the fields of environmental management and marine ecology.

  • Leads on unusually complex environment & marine ecology challenges and provides solutions that are highly creative, in coordination with the entire project team, in consultation with KSA environmental regulators.

  • Facilitates partnerships with key stakeholders and organizations impacted by the project.

  • Assigns work to employees, oversees, and tracks the completion of work assignments.

  • Interviews and selects personnel for assignment, as required (including Consultant and Contractor personnel).

  • Maintains clear and concise work standards and goals; provides training and development; completes performance evaluations, conducts employee counselling, takes corrective action as necessary.

  • Prepare the internal reports for presentation to all levels of the organisation, and external reports for issue to KSA government regulators.

  • Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering or related discipline with minimum 15 years’ experience in design and construction projects, specifically marine and coastal projects in the Middle East region.

  • Experience in the delivery of coral assessment, relocation and monitoring programs.

  • Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and management skills.

  • Proven experience of working within complex design and construction environment.

  • Ability to follow through clearly deliver work instructions in a complex stakeholder environment.

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors.

  • Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.

  • Strong Consultant and Contractor management skills.
