Your day at NTT DATA
The Network Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing company network infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure communication.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support networking needs and plays a critical role in ensuring network reliability, performance, and security.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deploy functional networks, including local area networks (LANs), wireless LANs (WLANs), and wide area networks (WANs).
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
Configure and manage network devices using command-line interfaces (CLIs) and network management tools.
Implement and maintain network security best practices to protect against cyber threats.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to identify and resolve problems promptly.
Document network configurations and procedures for future reference and knowledge transfer.
Stay up-to-date on the latest networking technologies and trends.
Collaborate with other IT teams (Security, Operations, etc.) to ensure a holistic approach to network management.
Implement and optimize wireless communication systems for high data rate applications.
Simulate wireless networks and investigate algorithms for performance enhancements.
Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
Set up and manage firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco ASA).
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance and integrity.
Resolve escalated issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
CCNP, CCIE will be preferred
Required Experience:
Minimum of [5] years of experience in network engineering.
Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.) and network security principles
Experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices using CLIs and network management tools.
Experience with network automation tools preferable
Strong experience with Cisco/Aruba wireless solutions.
Working experience with Aruba products preferable
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
