Your day at NTT DATA

The Network Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing company network infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure communication.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support networking needs and plays a critical role in ensuring network reliability, performance, and security.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy functional networks, including local area networks (LANs), wireless LANs (WLANs), and wide area networks (WANs).

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.

  • Configure and manage network devices using command-line interfaces (CLIs) and network management tools.

  • Implement and maintain network security best practices to protect against cyber threats.

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to identify and resolve problems promptly.

  • Document network configurations and procedures for future reference and knowledge transfer.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest networking technologies and trends.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams (Security, Operations, etc.) to ensure a holistic approach to network management.

  • Implement and optimize wireless communication systems for high data rate applications.

  • Simulate wireless networks and investigate algorithms for performance enhancements.

  • Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.

  • Set up and manage firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco ASA).

  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor network performance and integrity.

  • Resolve escalated issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • CCNP, CCIE will be preferred

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of [5] years of experience in network engineering.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.) and network security principles

  • Experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices using CLIs and network management tools.

  • Experience with network automation tools preferable

  • Strong experience with Cisco/Aruba wireless solutions.

  • Working experience with Aruba products preferable

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
