Job Description
Join our Surveying Department as a Survey Crew Chief, responsible for performing various types of surveys including topographic, boundary, and utility surveys. You will be tasked with determining numeric measurements and elevations for land development, parking lots, and buildings. These include finding 3D positions of specific points, distances and angles between building corners, and elevations of the land. The data collected in the field will be utilized by drafters and designers to create new buildings and land developments. Your role will involve scanning, plotting, measuring points to create surveying plans, accurately calculating and recording field data, and ensuring the operation, proficiency, and calibration of survey equipment. You will also be responsible for operating, maintaining, and organizing trucks, demonstrating safety awareness, and being prepared for work every day. Additionally, you will generate suggestions for improving workflow and cost savings.

Work Environment
The work week spans 40-50 hours, with 70% of the time spent in the field and 30% in the office. The role involves driving to the office, then traveling to sites in a company truck with a crew. The office in Rochester Hills is well-equipped, featuring a large kitchen space and multiple conference rooms. It fosters a collaborative and creative culture, highlighted by activities such as wearing Halloween costumes, decorating the office for holidays, casual Fridays, and an annual Bring Your Kids to Work Day.
