Pfizer U-05 Janitorial Services Technician - 1st shift in Rochester, Michigan

ROLE SUMMARY

The Janitorial Service Technician is responsible for performing cleaning of all non-GMP areas including offices, cubicles, meeting rooms, facility main entrances & corridors, cafeteria/break rooms and restrooms, locker rooms, windows, doors, walls. In addition, the selected candidates will be responsible for preparation of cleaning solutions used in the cleaning process. These processes are to be performed in accordance with Janitorial best practices for cleaning, vacuuming, dusting and mopping following checklist guidelines and site policies is a requirement of the position.

This position will be working in a penicillin facility. The candidates must not be allergic to penicillin.

The essential duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for performing cleaning of all non-GMP areas including offices, cubicles, meeting rooms, facility main entrances & corridors, cafeteria/break rooms and restrooms, locker rooms, windows, doors, walls.

  • Operating cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffing machines and carpet extractors.

  • Responsible for cleaning and storage of equipment.

  • Accurate and timely completing of non-GMP checklist logs.

  • Preparation of cleaning solutions used in the cleaning process.

  • Maintains supplies and work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.

  • Receives supplies in area and moves to designated storage area.

  • Checks equipment and work area to notify supervisor if repairs are needed.

  • Flushes, clean and documents safety showers and eye washes. Reports any malfunction to supervisor.

  • Disposes of trash and waste properly.

  • Assists in maintaining inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies.

  • Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned at the manager's discretion.

General Expectations

  • Work in a safe manner and report all potential safety issues to leadership in a timely manner

  • Perform all tasks in accordance with Janitorial best practices for cleaning, vacuuming, dusting and mopping following checklist guidelines and site policies/requirements.

  • Dependable - Follows unit / area / facility requirements and guidelines

  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks in support of the Rochester Site objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma / general education degree (GED) preferred or six months of work experience (e.g. current or previous Pfizer colleague; previous employment; Janitorial cleaning or Veterans/Military relevant experience). Ability to contribute to Janitorial department success in a team environment and perform tasks at a productive level under demanding conditions is mandatory. Must be self-motivated and willing to learn new and changing responsibilities. Requires a demonstrated ability to direct daily activities to meet janitorial cleaning schedule.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is located in a penicillin facility. The candidates must not be allergic to penicillin.

  • Considerable standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends if required to meet facility needs.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This is a Day shift position with core hours from 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday with overtime required as needed.

The salary for this position ranges from $0,00 to $0,00 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company's policies.
