Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Education Instructor is responsible for planning, coordinating and instructing pertinent training programs and classes for Mayo Midwest staff. Coordinates and facilitates assessment of technical competence at Midwest sites, traveling to these sites as needed. Assists in ensuring educational programs meet all quality, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards. Supports and participates in activities to improve pharmacy education programs and processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • A minimum of 2 years pharmacy experience with sterile compounding, non-sterile compounding, inpatient pharmacy, and/or outpatient pharmacy experience required

  • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in educating various learning styles and developing teaching strategies. Patience and ability to effectively coach and mentor others. Strong commitment and evidence of achieving excellence. Proven history of successfully working in a team environment, communicating effectively and working independently with minimal supervision. Computer competency including word processing, spreadsheet preparation, and data collection/management/analysis. Project management and coordination skills preferred. Prior experience in teaching, training, mentoring students/trainees/employees preferred.

  • CSP and/or CPhT-Adv specialty certification; proven commitment to pharmacy technician education, training, and scholarly activity; previous experience with CSP assessment.

License or Certification

  • CPhT certification

  • MN state Board of Pharmacy registration

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

$54,000 - $81,000 / year
