Olmsted Medical Center Physical Therapist Assistant in Rochester, Minnesota

Description PRN - Day Shifts - 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Physical Therapist Assistant Starting Pay - $24.94 to $31.17 (Based on Experience) Qualifications: Current state Physical Therapist Assistant licensure and graduate of an accredited school or college with a certificate as a Physical Therapist Assistant BLS certification Strong written and verbal skills Basic computer knowledge Ability to work with all age ranges in field of expertise Job Responsibilities: Provides treatment as directed by the evaluating physical therapist. Adheres to standards of physical medicine practice. Observes and assesses treatment effectiveness, and discusses observations with evaluating physical therapist. Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities, including moist heat/ice packs, iontophoresis, electrical stimulation, paraffin bath, mechanical traction, infrared light therapy, ultrasound, and instruction in/progression of therapeutic exercises. Charges patients accurately and timely in compliance with departmental policy and in compliance with specifications outlined in the annual CPT publication (current procedural terminology). Meets documentation standards outlined in the physical therapist assistant competencies. Maintains regulatory requirements, including Minnesota licensure and continuing education requirements. Participates in educational staff performance improvement in-services following participation with continuing education; i.e. discipline specific presentation, department presentation, journal club leader. Attends department meetings and in-services, as scheduled. Other duties as assigned.
