Responsibilities

*This is a limited tenure position through April 30, 2025*

Provides guidance to the core areas of Internal Operations, specifically MLI, Client Support, and IT services related to Referral testing and file build. Serves as local document manager for MML Referrals, maintains electronic Referral Test Catalog and MML related fields in Laboratory Test Catalog. Responsible for reviewing test changes from referral labs, fee schedule updates, initiating change control to downstream systems, and performing file definition in SCC SOFT LIS. Works with DLMP laboratories, MLI, Internal Operations, and clients, identifying the need for rules that will direct the specimen handling through internal operations. Must have exemplary human relations skills and proven problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify, analyze, evaluate, and solve specimen problems in support of Internal Operations and MLI. Works with DLMP Laboratories, internal collections areas, Mayo physicians, and Central Processing to resolve patient specimen issues. Requires critical thinking skills related to reporting test results from a large number of referral labs. Provides quality reporting for all involved in the reporting process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Science and 3 years’ experience in Mayo Medical Laboratories and/or a clinical laboratory is required.

  • In lieu of a Bachelors' Degree, 8 years of experience in the DLMP or MML is acceptable.

  • Requires excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, prompt follow-through and closure of identified actions, an ability to prioritize and an ability to work independently and contribute as a team member.

  • Knowledge or experience with computers and the ability to troubleshoot problems is essential. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Community Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (CLMP) employees that have been in their current lab/position for less than 2 years must attach an early release approval from their supervisor.

  • Internal applicants must attach their 3 most recent performance appraisals.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. Compensation range is $23.48 - 34.10 per hour.
