Passero Associates Airport Civil Engineer/ Senior Project Manager in Rochester, New York

Passero Associates’ Rochester, NY office has an excellent opportunity for an Airport-Civil Engineer / Sr. Project Manager. The senior-level candidate will be offered tremendous management and growth opportunities within Passero, overseeing a wide range of aviation-focused planning and development projects. Project assignments will include all aspects of airfield development, including aviation civil design and construction, master planning, buildings, and development of 5-year capital improvement plans at multiple airports. Direct experience with commercial service airport clients is desired. This position reports directly to the regional aviation service director, with direct communication, support and access to the company’s Board of Directors. Responsibilities:•Lead and manage engineering and architectural design team(s) from planning and conceptual design, through construction document development, including the production of drawings, specifications and engineering reports for permit agency (FAA, DOT) approval, bidding, and construction.•Collaborate with multiple clients to develop multi-year CIP’s.•Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, architects and planners to plan, design, and oversee immediate and long-term progress on a variety of capital improvement projects.•Function as the client’s primary representative of Passero, coordinate and lead meetings with governing agencies for small- and large-scale projects, including conducting planning, pre-bid, bid openings, pre-construction, construction progress, final inspection, and project closeout meetings.•Coordinate the project bid process, including preparation of bid tabulations and award recommendation letters.•Provide construction administration services within your supporting team, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing pay applications, including management of construction observation and material testing team members.•Pursue new work, prepare scope and fee proposals, negotiate contracts, prepare project work plans, project schedules, monthly invoices, budgets and establish overall team performance measures.•Provide clear communication with internal and external team members, clients, and governing authorities.•Understand, update and implement Passero’s strategic plan and vision in the Northeastern U.S. Qualifications/Experience:•BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.•PE required.•10+ years of experience in airport development, planning, design, permitting and construction.•Aviation consulting experience is required. Commercial service airport experience is desirable. •Well versed in technical specifications, contract documents, and construction cost planning.•Proven ability to effectively coordinate the entire project design-bid-construction process.•Experienced in developing and mentoring a team of supporting professionals.•Effective communication and technical writing skills.•Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.•Ability to obtain Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge required, including Federal Background Check (with clear record).Salary - Minimum base salary of $125,000 annually, plus discretionary, mid-year and year-end bonus potential.
