Paychex Analytics Engineer II in Rochester, New York
Overview
Support the Paychex Data, Analytics, & Artificial Intelligence (DAAI) organization with data engineering best practices to optimize our strategies. Responsible for supporting department initiatives with hands-on actions combined with strong attention to detail. Will be an adept learner, who is comfortable working and learning through complex concepts in a fast-laced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with DAAI owned data warehouse tasks, utilizing industry standards to manage our cloud and on-premise data environments and optimize accessibility to all consumers under the direction of team leaders.
Complete automation projects, working with multiple stakeholders to devise and implement solutions to drive efficiency. Communicate freely with leaders and stakeholders to ensure projects meet expectations and timelines are met.
Engineer solutions to acquire or deliver datasets critical to business processing. These can include API calls using native or third-party solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven recommendations.
Collaborate with documentation and version control to maximize the efficiency and sustainability to new and existing solutions. Make suggestions and integrate new philosophies as needed.
Lead team training and development concepts to address weaknesses and also develop strengths.
Stay up to date on current and upcoming technology to ensure that the DAAI always be an asset. Engage with vendors and other leaders to gather information or complete testing.
Display initiative to strengthen skills and learn concepts to improve output and bolster the team portfolio.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related - Preferred
2 years of experience in Business Analytics, Data Warehousing, Data Engineering or Similar.
2 years of experience in SQL, Python, C# or Similar.
1 year of experience in Administering on premise or cloud data platforms like MS SQL Server, MS Azure, Snowflake or similar.
1 year of experience in Advanced data management and designing data pipelines.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $ $77,070 - $143,130 annually. Please remember that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience, which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
