What You'll Get To Do:
We are looking for a tenacious, intrinsically motivated individual to join our team. In this dynamic role, the ideal candidate will lead the sale, design, development, testing, deployment and support of Panasonic Industrial Internet of Things solutions. This position requires direct interface with external customers and internal multifunctional team members. The application engineer is responsible for leading customers through the pre-sale process all the way through post-sale support.
Act as key account manager for assigned existing accounts
Support urgent customer issues in the field
Provide existing customers with technical support as needed and escalate to software and support teams as needed
Maintain and follow through on customer tickets (features, bugs, activities).
Identify new opportunities for existing customers
Develop new applications with potential and existing customers
Present our products to the customer through technical sales presentations and on-site factory visits
Translate technical features and functionality into customer observable features
Has a deep technical understand of the product line and is able to translate customer need to the capabilities of the product
Be proactive in identifying and closing opportunities
Act as technical project lead in a new deployment
Lead technical team meetings
Responsible for defining, developing, integrating, and testing of IIoT solutions for new projects:
Create and execute requirements for project
Lead the creation of physical and software environment that mirrors the customer solution
Coordinate on-site installation support and site surveys as necessary
Work closely with program manager and other team members to ensure tasks are completed appropriately
Creation of technical documentation as necessary
Follow through on issues/bugs and new feature requirements
Develop and conduct training as necessary
Administration
Maintain and follow through on customer requests (features, bugs, etc).
Document bugs or feature request in Jira
Document customer interactions in Salesforce
Answer support calls, customer emails and internal communications for assigned accounts
Scope
The position reports directly to the Group Manager of the IIoT department of PIDSA.
The employee is expected to be an individual contributor, with no direct or indirect reports.
This position in in office.
What You'll Bring:
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
2-5 years experience in Solution Business Preferred
Knowledge of Manufacturing and or Factory Automations Preferred
Technical understanding Experience in network and software development and software systems, SQL, Windows, Database design, scripting, required
Design of RFID-based systems preferred
At least 1 year experience in a customer facing role or sales preferred

Other Requirements
35%-50% Domestic Travel to customer sites required in factory floor setting).
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
This is an in-person position, located in Rochester, NY.
