The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Follows written procedures and interprets and adjusts for variations in procedures within established limits.Responsibilities Position Summary: The University of Rochester, Division of General Pediatrics is seeking to hire a Research Assessment Specialist. The candidate will work with a team of assessment specialists to implement the study protocol for a multi-site behavioral clinical trial with both child and adult participants. The Research Assessment Specialist will conduct participant measures and engage in participant recruitment and retention activities. Duties include but are not limited to scheduling study assessment visits, conducting study measures (i.e., body measurements and surveys), entering data and ensuring quality control of data, attending all scheduled research meetings, participating in initial and ongoing study specific training, and working collaboratively with other team members. This part-time position will require the candidate to have flexibility to work weekday evenings and possible weekend hours. Travel is required among participating practices in the Greater Rochester area. Responsibilities: - Conduct subject recruitment, enrollment and retention activities including calling potentially eligible participants to describe the study, and scheduling participant visits. Implement study protocol and administer written informed consent to study participants. Conduct body measurements including body weight, and height and administer a series of study surveys to participants. Engage in activities aimed to retain participants in the study, including regular phone calls. - Data collection, data entry, and data maintenance. Ensure the quality of participant data by employing proper quality control procedures and attention to detail. Enter participant information into the study's electronic data capture system with high quality. Perform on-site validity checks of data and obtains clarification as needed. Verify study related information and review subject records to ensure complete and accurate data. Enter data into database. Run simple reports from database. Conduct data cleaning procedures. Assist with database creation, edits and general maintenance. - Perform additional research duties as assigned by study coordinator including; participant incentive tracking and distribution, assistance with presentations, posters, manuscripts, literature reviews, general office duties, etc. - Must attend all scheduled study meetings, and complete ongoing training as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications; - Requires 1 year of relevant post High School education or equivalent and 1-2 years of related experience required. - Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with REDCap is preferred. Prefer bachelor's in health science field but not required. - Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Must be flexible, empathetic, and able to engage effectively with diverse populations. Demonstrate efficiency in prioritizing assignments, as well as skill in proactively and independently resolving problems in the field, and recommending/implementing continuous quality improvements. - Must have own reliable/efficient transportation to primary care offices and other local sites. Evenings and weekends are required. Schedule 8 AM-12 PM Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: Handles all input/output information for a computer installation. SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED: May direct other lower level Data Control Clerks or clerical assistants. MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED: Typewriter, adding machine, electric accounting machine, unit record equipment such as a sorter, collator and computer forms printer, computer terminal and other equipment as may be required on the job. TYPICAL DUTIES: 1. Logs and balances all input and output information for computer processing. Performs associated duties such as receiving, sorting, reviewing for accuracy and completeness, and editing and correcting errors. 2. Prepares data for card punching, optical scanning, sorting, etc., in accordance with written instructions. Transports and controls movement of input/output data to or from the various processing areas. Analyzes and suggests improvements in flow of information, error detection/correction, etc. 3. May identify operations parameters such as estimated quantity of input/output, estimates of run time, individual priorities and the like, for use by computer operators. May establish job flow, computer utilization, or other operations schedules as directed. 4. May prepare, retain and/or summarize data, records and reports and maintains them as guided by retention cycles. 5. Determines accuracy of input/output data and trouble shoots areas of incomplete and faulty data, contacting originating department as necessary. Reschedules processing of data when problem is resolved. 6. May process or assist in processing data through electric accounting machine, sorter, etc., and operate or assist in the operation of a remote terminal for selective data review. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Requires 1 year of relevant post High School education or equivalent and 1-2 years of related experience.
