Safran Federal Systems Lead Project Manager in ROCHESTER, New York

The Opportunity: This position will require an excellent balance of technical aptitude and commercial savviness as you drive the build-up of our project management competence through process and tooling development as well as hands of management of projects. Your role is one of player - coach where you can institutionalize best practices while also ensuring the proposal meet the needs of the business through practical utilization. You will have direct responsibility for project execution of products from the concept phase through to release. Building long-lasting partnerships is key for this role as you'll be expected to make foundational improvements and socialize the changes that will ultimately improve our on-time delivery and ultimately the profitability of the company. How I will Contribute: Propose and implement project management tools and process to elevate the competence in SFS. Create documentation to support processes and tooling and develop communication plans to implement changes. Create, drive and track detailed project plans that outline the scope, budget, and schedule. Assemble, guide and motivate project teams to achieve project goals. Address and resolve any conflict that arises within the team, Apply appropriate risk assessments to projects. Organize, and lead project meetings both with the project team and stakeholders. Conduct regular quality checks and reviews to ensure deliverables meet the required standards. Provide regular updates on project progress, technical milestones, and any issues. Foster effective communication with the project team and stakeholders. Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs, using appropriate change control processes What You Bring to Safran Federal Systems Bachelor's degree in technical field (EE, CE, CS, ME) with a minimum of 7 years of related experience Experience running a combination or hardware and software-based projects in a product development environment. Ability to be agile and have fun! Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines. Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust. Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate across various levels within the organization. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
