University of Rochester Pediatric Sedation - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Exciting opportunity to provide patient care in a new role within the Pediatric Sedation Service. The APP will work in collaboration with the Pediatric Imaging and Sedation teams, as well as the Pediatric Critical Care Attendings to provide comprehensive care to pediatric sedation patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Role will include providing minimal and moderate sedation including nitrous oxide, providing consultation and coordination for patients requiring procedural sedation, working with our ISD/EPIC team to continue to improve EHR tools for the sedation team, and assistance with the strategic growth of the program. APP will also assist in the development of clinical practice guidelines and participate in program related quality assurance/performance improvement activities, as well as provider education regarding the sedation program both locally and regionally. APP will work to develop and maintain relationships with inpatient and outpatient care teams to provide assistance in organizing care for complex sedation cases. Experience in pediatrics is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in sedation, critical care and/or pediatric procedural/perioperative care. The ideal candidate must have extremely strong clinical skills, especially in emergency situations. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and should be comfortable giving presentations in front of a large audience. PALS certification required. Pediatric Acute Care Post-Masters Certificate strongly encouraged within three years of hire. Qualifications: Nurse Practitioners require a Master’s degree in Nursing, an active NYS licensure in good standing, and eligible for national certification. Physician Assistants require completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, NYS licensure in good standing, and eligible national certification as a Registered Physician Assistant.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Physician Assistant

Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $47.12 - $65.97 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
