Avangrid Service Company Representative - Field Customer Service in Rochester, New York

Job Title: Representative - Field Customer Service

Location: 400 West Avenue, Rochester NY

Reports to: Supervisor - Field Customer Service

Pay rate: $25 / hour

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing superior customer service to all RG&E customers, Customer Representatives communicate about all aspects of customer's accounts. They process customer payments, perform collections related transactions, perform Department of Social Services transactions, process customer requests for service, handle billing inquires and handle other miscellaneous customer transactions and duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handles collection activities, DSS transactions, turn-on/shut-off requests, and billing inquiries for walk-in customers in one of RG&Es Customer Offices. Uses customer service skills and training to ensure quality customer transactions-customers receive prompt, courtesy service; customers receive accurate information; and customer records are updated accuratelyAudits and maintains all related records including meter data, maintenance plans and equipment certification records.
  • Takes payment from customers and applies payment to customer account. Balances cash drawer and prepares daily cash deposit
  • Performs miscellaneous customer service transactions. Assists with gas and electric emergencies.

Required Qualifications
  • High school/GED with 2 years relevant experience.

  • SAP experience.
  • RG&E billing and collections experience.
