UAP Production LLC Patinist in Rock Tavern, New York
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration with our team of finishers and project managers to determine appropriate finishing & patina approach. Surface preparation. Color matching. Application of hot and cold patinas to various metals (primarily bronze). Ability to sample & formulate chemical solutions. Application of wax and clear coats to finished pieces. Must have a general understanding of finishes and artwork context to inform maintenance recommendations for outgoing works. Testing of various solutions/finishes and diligent record-keeping of application procedures.
Requirements:
Prefer two+ years of relevant experience in patina work. Must be able to visualize the difference between all colors on the color wheel. Standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time. Other metal finishing, fabrication, and paint experience, a plus. You must possess an ability to work under pressure. Be an excellent and kind team player, with both UAP peers and artists/clients. Have a strong work ethic and be able to focus on delivery. Appreciation for the art world.
