Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial production equipment. Candidate will need to prioritize and schedule maintenance work around production activities to achieve both production and maintenance goals on deadlines. You will also make repairs and improvements to equipment in the production process to ensure product quality and promote continuous improvement. The role includes troubleshooting and repairing machinery, installation of new equipment, and maintaining building equipment such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Hard Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret machine manuals/schematics, electrical blueprints/schematics and process control diagrams

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and controllers, including troubleshooting of AC-DC, Motors, and PLC Controllers

  • 240V and 480V Machine installs; Ability to pick the correct wire size for Amps for the installs

  • Experience troubleshooting and wiring 3 phase power control circuits

  • Troubleshooting with ladder logic and electrical schematics to determine the root cause of equipment failures

  • Mechanical installation and alignment techniques (motor/gearbox, pumps, sprockets)

  • Use of precision measurement tools and calibration equipment

  • Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulic systems

  • Basic skills with shop equipment such as a mill, lathe, and drill press

  • Basic knowledge of reading schematics and blueprints of machines, pneumatics, and hydraulics

Work Environment

1st Shift position: 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Thursday and on Friday as needed. Facility is not temperature controlled, but it is a clean and organized environment that is well lit. Machines are older and custom made.
