Job Description
Are you a skilled Welder looking for an exciting opportunity? Join our team and take on a vital role in preparing and welding high-turn stock and standard products. You'll perform MIG welding on products with medium complexity and tolerances, regularly working with plate thicknesses up to 3/8" and occasionally up to 1/2". Your expertise will ensure welds are defect-free and meet blueprint specifications, contributing to our organizational profitability. You'll also handle minor assembly tasks and use an overhead crane to position weldments, all while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Responsibilities
Perform basic fit-up operations in preparation for welding.
Use fixtures when available and appropriate.
Set up for welding operations.
Perform MIG welding on products with medium complexity and tolerances.
Regularly weld plate thicknesses up to 3/8" and occasionally up to 1/2".
Ensure welds are free from defects and meet blueprint and traveler specifications.
Meet welding time and quality standards.
Complete fit-up and weld operations to ensure organizational profitability.
Use an overhead crane to position weldments.
Essential Skills
Proficient in MIG welding.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Capability to earn a MIG welding certificate.
Proficiency in welding up to 3/8".
Mastery of fabricating all stock and 65% of standard products.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hand plasma and air arc tools.
Certification for overhead crane use.
Certification on forklift.

Work Environment
Shift Hours: 2:00pm - 12:30am with potential overtime on Fridays or longer days.
Location: Our recently moved production facility in Rockford, Illinois, equipped with CNC machines, welders, grinders, an assembly department, and a shipping department.
