Mission Systems Rockford is seeking candidates for a Parts, Materials, and Process Manager position. This role is for an individual contributor who will be responsible for ensuring all parts, materials, and processes comply with customer and program requirements and production schedules. Serves as primary point of contact for customer regarding status of parts, materials and process approvals, obsolescence planning, and corresponding production build impacts. This role requires advanced/applied knowledge of the subcontracted systems, material requirements planning (MRP) process, project management, subcontract management and proposal activities. Typically viewed as expert in multiple aspects of PMP, this role requires broad knowledge of financial, project and material management. This role is onsite.

What You Will Do

  • Own and develop elements of functional strategies and operational goals for all parts, materials and process (PMP) activities to sustain production including part shortage mitigation

  • Develop and lead a material program strategy/plan for programs or integrated product team

  • Participate in proposals by developing and leading proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates and participating in gate review preparation and/or support activities and assists with the generation of Supplier Statement of Works (SSOW)

  • Working closely with Program Management, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Engineering, Quality, Production Control and Procurement to ensure successful supplier management and execution in supporting program needs and requirements

  • Establish a process and manage the tracking of parts usage, build at risk statuses, and forecast run out schedule

  • Manage part change notice evaluations and supplier request for information responses and track customer approvals

  • Manage customer relations, including communicating parts status, builds at risk, and line of balance management with customer

  • Prepare and present parts, materials and process status to customer at weekly customer status meetings and quarterly program reviews

  • Manage and facilitate third party quotation reviews for compliance to purchase order requirements, ensuring program contract compliance

  • Lead individual program activities related to assessment of supplier compliance to standards, assessment of impacts from industry technical alerts and identification of parts to meet demanding reliability/ performance/cost/delivery schedule objectives

  • Oversee (Manage) proposal activity for parts, materials and process project planning including basis of estimates, schedule, and risk mitigation

  • Advanced knowledge of Program parts, materials and process requirements

  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives impacting efficiency and effectiveness of production parts, materials and process management

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors

  • Collaborate with team members, customers, and vendors to help resolve issues in a timely and thorough manner

  • Control Account Management (CAM) for activities to sustain production such as shelf-life extension testing, destructive part analysis, and/or obsolescence planning and management

  • Generate and manage Estimate At Completion (EAC) and Risk & Opportunities

    Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract ​ Strong project management, written and verbal communication, and conflict resolution skills

    Qualifications We Prefer

  • PMI parts, Materials and Process Certification or obtain an Advanced Degree in Project Management

  • Expert Microsoft Office Skills

  • Experience working with Operations in Production environment preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Project

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
