Health First Associate Financial Analyst - Financial Analysis and Planning in Rockledge, Florida
*POSITION SUMMARY: *
To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: The Associate Financial Analyst, under the immediate supervision of Finance Manager, provides superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding service and is primarily concerned with budgeting and variance analyses of financial information of Health First, Inc. and its affiliates. Additionally, this position will prepare detailed preliminary analysis of variances, and other routine and assigned tasks.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Financial Analyst to support the preparation of the annual budget and forecast for the operating entities within Health First, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established guidelines.
- Conduct preliminary variance analysis monthly, comparing actuals to the budget to identify and report key discrepancies.
- Apply fundamental financial concepts to analyze and assess the operational performance of assigned departments, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.
- Perform preliminary profitability assessments of various service lines, identifying and communicating any significant variances to the Financial Analyst.
- Compile and provide initial financial analysis reports as directed by the Financial Analyst, supporting financial oversight and strategic planning efforts.
- Gather and organize preliminary data to assist the Financial Analyst in training management on interpreting financial data and metrics.
- Address and resolve internal requests for financial information within two working days, maintaining a target of no more than five exceptions per quarter.
- Utilize established procedures to identify and recommend potential cost-saving opportunities for the operating entities, contributing to fiscal responsibility.
- Track and report on the productivity metrics of statistical departments daily and bi-weekly, ensuring performance is monitored and optimized.
- Complete assigned special projects accurately and efficiently, with no more than one error in methodology or execution by the end of the fourth quarter.
- Provide ongoing financial support to management by preparing preliminary analysis, answering inquiries, and supplying relevant data as needed.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to current procedures for better efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Page

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education://Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. •Work Experience:None •Licensure:None •Certification:None •Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: o Prior experience and knowledge in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Windows. o Knowledge of clinical/financial information system use o Enthusiasm and high level of job interest. o Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. o Possess computer abilities as well as oral and written communication skills. o Demonstrates the ability to relate well with all customers and peers. o Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service. o Remain current on all financial regulations and standards. o Knows fundamental clinical and financial concepts necessary to analyze operation performance of departments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:Two (2) years healthcare experience in financial analysis.* *
