Job Title: Lead Engineer (ARE)

Job Summary: EMCOR Services CES has a Lead Engineer opportunity in Rockville, MD. The Lead Engineer will perform oversight of other tradesmen, general mechanical installation, troubleshooting, and repair related to building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment such as air handlers, pumps, motors, cooling towers, split systems, chillers, EDS, and other related equipment. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform general mechanical installation, troubleshooting, and repair related to building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment such as air handlers, pumps, motors, cooling towers, split systems, chillers, EDS, gensets, and other related equipment.

  • Performs oversight and assumes responsibility of several facilities in the Chief Engineer’s absence.

  • Be familiar with current safety requirements and technologies or products as pertains to mechanical and electrical work.

  • Provides recommendations to correct deficiencies found and conduct follow-up work as required.

  • Perform preventative maintenance work to include replacing and aligning bearings, replacing motors, compressors, controls, and replacing filters or belts. Repair or install insulation on pipe and machinery.

  • Conduct/record daily building tours, coordinate subcontractors, manage EMS/BAS systems, and maintain/update local operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Requires MD 1 st Engineer license.

  • Minimum 7 years experience in the engineering field.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime including evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed. Schedule specifically includes working at various locations and routine weekend work.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must have a current drivers license as role requires driving between buildings.

Physical Demands:

  • Be able to work in areas that are not temperature controlled, not well lit, be able to climb ladders or steps, be able to work at heights to include on man lifts or elevated platforms.
