Summary: Examines patient’s requisition form to obtain vital information needed prior to testing (room number, patient number, STAT, preop, etc.), and responds accordingly.
Checks patient’s chart to verify other, and accurately transcribes necessary, information from the patient’s chart (BP, medications, ordering physician), ensuring that contraindicating conditions are identified and communicated to the physician prior to initiation of the procedure.
Responsibilities:
Performs Echocardiograms at rest, and with exercise;
-Performs Stress Echocardiograms;
-Performs bubble studies;
-Performs Transesophageal Echocardiogram;
-Obtains 12-lead ECG tracings with rhythm strips in routine and emergency situations, if trained;
-Performs treadmill for stress testing, Dobutamine or Adenosine and Cardiolite, if trained;
-Performs signal average testing, if trained.
