Cummins Inc. Skilled Technician - Level IV in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Skilled Technician - Level IV to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Expertise Application : Utilize your comprehensive knowledge to perform skilled activities that support manufacturing business needs, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

  • Resource Coordination : Work with relevant functions to select and utilize appropriate resources, tools, machinery, and specialty equipment, optimizing the manufacturing process.

  • Safety Leadership : Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols, reporting hazards, and promoting a culture of safety and interdependence among team members.

  • Quality Assurance : Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship, perform quality inspections, and support equipment failure analysis to maintain and improve product quality.

  • Maintenance Excellence : Perform and document preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.

  • Process Improvement : Collaborate with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and implement process improvements.

  • Environmental Stewardship : Recognize and minimize the environmental impact of your work, ensuring compliance with HSE standards and engaging in relevant training.

  • Team Collaboration : Communicate effectively with your team and support teams, participate in training and development, and actively contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to enhance overall team performance.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.

  • Deliver daily support to the team to meet customer requirements.

  • Lead team to compliance for all safety related trainings, audits & checks.

  • Lead Team towards achieving KPI’s (PFMEA, Costs, KMCC) & work toward addressing issues at Top 5 stations.

  • Lead improvement initiatives and drive root cause analysis. Help team to drive improvements.

  • Committed to standard and hold self and others accountable i.e., follow team guidelines, team standards.

  • Work with Maintenance on machine corrections/alignments.

  • Follow up with team on issues which have been identified, but not resolved.

Preferences:

  • Mechanical Journeyman

  • Seeking candidates with extensive (6+ years preferred) of work-related experience.

  • Specialized training preferred; Journeyman card/Certification and/or 2–4-year Degree in Associated field.
