Job Description

The role develops and/or implements the compliance programme for Italy, provides functional support for the company business activities, and advices company managers and employees on all aspects of Allergan Aesthetics’ compliance programme as well as external regulations.

The role provides general compliance advice to business and commercial operations, including but not limited to anti-bribery standards, healthcare compliance laws & regulations, advertising & promotional standards, etc. General compliance support is also provided to other functions, including Finance, Regulatory, QA, Medical Affairs, Business Excellence and Market Access.

The role ensures local compliance governance, including necessary compliance policies and procedures, risk management and due diligence, training and guidance to employees and third parties on compliance related topics. The role actively engages in review and approval (when necessary) of all significant projects and financial transactions concerning HCP’s and other third parties to ensure compliance with Allergan Aesthetics policies. The role helps to identify monitoring needs and perform monitoring activities to minimize compliance risks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Provides daily compliance support and advice to the local organization / 50%

• Acts as a point of contact for all compliance matters locally, internally within the International Compliance Department, and externally with regulators and counsels (when necessary).

• Provides guidance and advice to local commercial and functional teams, and pro-actively supports business matters to ensure compliance with corporate standards and mitigation of compliance risks. Acts as a local subject matter expert on all aspects of compliance programme.

• Keeps local organisation and the International Compliance Department updated with all newly published local compliance rules and regulations that may affect commercial operations, local compliance programme or standards.

• Reviews and advises (when necessary) on matters and documents related to Allergan Aesthetics commercial activities, engagement of healthcare professionals, third parties & service providers, etc. In relation to those and/or other business activities, provides compliance risk assessment and develops risk mitigation strategies.

• Regularly provides reports on compliance matters to local country management as well as the International Compliance Department and attends local and international meetings and participates in other functional initiatives as required

  1. Leads and managers local compliance program to ensure adherence to internal policies / 50%

• Manages and actively participates in the local Compliance Committee. Provides day-to-day, ad-hoc and project specific compliance advice and guidance to commercial and functional teams.

• Creates, implements and manages appropriate policies, procedures and standards to mitigate compliance risks within the local organisation. Ensures implementation of Global, International or Area compliance policies, standards and decisions.

• Conducts ongoing risk assessment of commercial activities that require compliance review. Conducts due diligence reviews for both current and new third parties, particularly distributor partners.

• Provides appropriate guidance, training and education to employees regarding compliance programme, develops and runs compliance awareness sessions for the field force and office employees.

• Manages compliance incidents and deviations, escalating matters appropriately to the International Compliance Department. Conducts ad hoc reviews and assessments into potential compliance issues, supports local compliance investigations that may include review and evaluation of documents and records, personnel interviews, report drafting.

• Supports and implements the compliance monitoring programme with the focus on prevention of compliance issues and risks. Periodically carries out monitoring and review activities on specific elements of compliance programme.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

• At least 3 years of previous experience in a similar role for pharma and/or medical device business

• Practical knowledge of local Italy industry codes for pharma and/or medical device products

• Awareness of Italy standards on advertising, promotion of pharma and/or medical device products

• Proven experience in establishing and running compliance programmes for ABAC risk

• Strong analytical and organizational skills, proven project managent experience is a plus

• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written and oral)

• Experience in developing and delivering training for sales representatives and management teams

• Understanding of social media platforms and associated technology is a plus.

• University degree in law is a plus, but not a requirement of the role.
