Job Description The Position This position is a member of the Manufacturing Engineering Department. The Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader will report directly to Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Job Description Primary Responsibilities This position is the team leader for the manufacturing engineering team. The individual is an expert in the field of manufacturing engineering. The expectations for this position are that the individual uses their extensive experience, knowledge, and training to support the business through process improvements, cost savings initiatives, and everyday production needs with minimal amount of guidance as well as direct and lead the manufacturing engineering team with goals and objectives and support them. The position requires the individual have a wide range of knowledge and experience in an industrial plant and they have the interpersonal skills to deal with all different types of situations and individuals. This position requires a person to be familiar with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures to be able to handle difficult and complicated manufacturing problems. The expectation is that this person can lead diverse project teams. The individual should possess the majority of the key skills, competencies and applied/relevant work experience listed in below section. Key tasks would include: - Part programming and processing including documentation and tool list generation- Cost savings analysis with documentation- Strategic review of capital machinery needs and making sure these are followed through- Team mentorship and development- Identify key improvement targets and put plans in place to achieve- Support all departments and work to improve manufacturing processes and capabilities.Job Requirements Education - Master's Degree in an Engineering related field with at least (7) years of verifiable experience (including supervision role), or a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field with at least (10) years of verifiable experience (including supervision role), or an Associate's Degree in an Engineering Technology related field with at least (15) years of verifiable experience (including supervision role), or at least (20) years of verifiable experience (including supervision) in a Manufacturing environment with a HS Diploma and Vocational Training.Skills & Relevant Work Experience Required: - Must have expert understanding and applied working knowledge of blueprints, bills of material, tolerances, and general manufacturing practices and machine design- Must have an excellent understanding and applied working knowledge of MRP systems as they relate to the responsibilities of Manufacturing Engineering. D365 specific experience is a plus- Interpersonal skills to deal with all types of situations typical to a manufacturing environment- Expertise in machining methods for lathes, mills, and grinders, and other industrial equipment- CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks- Microsoft Office products experience- Ability to consistently meet or exceed cost savings targets- Program Management Skills and the ability to maintain a heavy workload while meeting deadlines- GD&T knowledge/experience- Experience programming using CAM software or "G and M code".- Cost Savings analysis and capital equipment justification- Root Cause and Corrective Action- Vast knowledge of cutting tools and knows different grades, coatings, and geometries and how they affect machining.- Familiarity and depth/breadth experience with a variety of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Hurco, Mazak, Milltronics, Mitsubishi, as well as any others.- Vast working knowledge of different materials and how they react to different machining methods.- Willing to work until job is completed which may require extended hours- Consistently meets or exceeds goals given- Familiarity and strong working knowledge using multiple machining techniques and what way is the most effective (cost & quality) to make parts.- Knows different inspection methods, has a clear understanding of GD&T and how to apply it to machining. Can use all different types of inspection tools and knows what tool and applications would be best used for each process and the many different features/tolerances in a manufacturing facility- Can come up with machining processes and programs to consistently hold tight tolerances, sometimes as tight as .0002".- Fluency in English Travel Requirements: up to 5-10% EOE M/F/D/V
