Description
Assured Information Security (AIS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our STARGate team in Rome, NY. This full-time, on-site position at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and other military installations involves developing software tools for SIGINT processing. Your responsibilities will include creating user interfaces, back-end server components and web applications.
How You’ll Succeed
You’ll succeed by working effectively in iterative engineering cycles with a geographically distributed team. You’ll investigate and report on candidate technologies for use in software solutions and collaborate with domain experts to capture new requirements and investigate challenge problems. You’ll participate in technical exchanges with other programs as well as implement and support collaborative solutions. You’ll be a principal contributor to design and architecture discussions and take responsibility for portions of the system.
Who You Are
You’re a problem solver who takes initiative on identifying, understanding and solving system problems. You can work independently and you’re capable of leading technical efforts. You have a solid understanding of network fundamentals and engineering principles, tools and software, as well as a strong understanding of business environments and engineering lifecycle concepts.
Your Expertise
You have a bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and a minimum of eight years of work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
You have an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
You have a minimum of six years of Java development experience.
You have the ability to describe highly technical software systems and express technical solutions in an understandable, customer appropriate fashion.
You have a solid understanding of secure software development practices.
You exhibit time management and task prioritization.
Preferred Education and Skills
Experience with ElasticSearch
Currently hold a CI Poly or willing to submit
Experience with Git
DoD IAT Level I certification
Experience with SIGINT
Experience with Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Ceph)
Experience with web development frameworks and software development in Linux environment

US Salary Range: $124,000 - $164,000The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
