Job Description Summary

  • Help successfully lead the launch of future Polaris products and technology into our global manufacturing facilities.

  • Operate cross-functionally and globally with a diverse team, collaborating closely with operations, central engineering, packaging engineering, product engineering and quality teams

  • Plan and coordinate activities necessary to produce new Polaris products successfully within Polaris using safety, quality and cost standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with operations and engineering leadership in the development of new product manufacturing recommendations, preliminary manufacturing plans and pre-production schedules

  • Drive quality and safety into product launches through execution of NPI tools and standard work to prepare and validate the assembly process for start of production.

  • Support creation, documentation, and execution of centralized core technology (process, equipment, systems) into existing plants.

  • Conducts design assessments and labor estimation of new product as well as supports early process flow creation and development of assembly work instructions.

  • Help define critical tooling and equipment requirements with development, procurement, and installation into assembly plants, working closely with NPI team members and plant manufacturing leads. Execute equipment and tooling plans on time and within budget.

  • Help identify and execute automation opportunities, cost reduction opportunities and drive make vs buy analysis.

  • Perform DFA/M analysis to improve quality and reduce costs driving design improvements to optimize processes and ensure ease of manufacturing.

  • Review and assess manufacturing readiness and feasibility, develop new product ramp-up build plans and coordinate the pre-production pilot build process leading up to start of production.

  • Development of PFMEA’s and implementation of identified risk mitigations.

  • Provide critical input and support all Polaris Development Process milestone reviews with Polaris management supporting a new technology process 1-3 years in length with significant financial investment.

  • Collaborate with plant training personnel to develop training plans specific to the new model launches.

  • Network with plant quality to define product quality improvement opportunities, driving early design influence and resolution.

  • Provide production support through the production start-up phase.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Engineering or related degree

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a related field

  • Ability to own and lead projects independently and effectively influence and work in cooperation with cross functional teams within the organization.

  • Strong experience in project management – plan, develop and execute.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to write clear, concise technical documentation/presentations.

  • Ability to identify and solve complex technical problems.

  • Excellent creative thinking skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and time management skills.

  • The passion to set and meet high standards of performance.

  • The ability to establish clear, measurable goals and deliver on commitments.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel 10-15% of time, including international.
