Job Overview Prepares and cooks a wide variety of food, based on government policy and recipes, served both hot or cold, handle and store food in a clean and sanitary environment, in according to all applicable food safety laws and regulations. This temporary position has varying shift hours. Pay for position: $18.84 / hour plus an additional $4.57 / hour cashed out fringe in lieu of benefits Retirement Plan - Eligible to participate in company 401(k) - No company match Paid Time off or Vacation - N/A Based on length of contract being under 1 year Sick Time - Accrued sick time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, capped at 56 hours per year Paid Holidays - 11 paid holidays per year Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Controls and manages the stock levels of food and supplies. Prepares and cooks items that require complex techniques and/or multiple preparation steps, and specialty sauces, soups, stocks etc. from scratch without the use of packaged mixes. Roasts, broils, bakes, fries, boils, steams, and stews meats, fish, and poultry. Slices, grinds, and cuts food items. Prepares fresh fruits and vegetables for cooking. Cooks food in large quantities and adjusts recipes and quantities needed on fluctuating servings required. Plans the cooking process to complete meals. Maintains proper temperatures as required by standard food safety limits and properly presents food in an appetizing manner. Operates, cleans, and maintains standard kitchen equipment. Reviews food handling and sanitation requirements and directives to ensure proper procedures are followed by kitchen staff. Cleans and stores utensils, pots and pans and any other cooking tool and equipment. Promotes standards of conduct which are expected and accepted in the workplace, and participates in the BMS as necessary to ensure proper workplace appearance, professionalism, and behavior. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: High school diploma or equivalent. Training in food preparation and 4-years related experience. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's certificate with 30 days of employment. Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract. Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
