ADP Procurement Category Manager in Roseland, New Jersey

ADP is hiring a Procurement Category Manager. Responsible for the implementation of sourcing & demand management strategies and the coordination and development of category plans, strategies, vision, process efficiency, strategic sourcing initiatives and tactics for assigned categories - HR (Talent Acquisition, Training, etc.) , Digital Marketing, etc. Manages a wide variety of complex third-party partner and major vendor relationships in support of ADP's domestic and international strategies product/services, software and technology objectives, initiatives, and migration. Collaborate with business unit leaders regarding purchasing processes, technology capabilities and policies to assist in the procurement lifecycle.

The Category manager will strategically partner with business unit leaders and contribute to their strategy by providing procurement expertise and strategic partnering for purchasing opportunities. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages strategic business partner and major vendor relationships to ensure ADP achieves its strategic product/service, financial, and operational initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business unit leadership team to support implementation of business strategies through advanced procurement initiatives and team alignment; lead the facilitation of the entire sourcing process with close collaboration with clients to select and award business to suppliers.

  • Conduct category spend analysis, reporting, supplier stratification, supply market and category industry research.

  • Support the negotiation of contracts with new suppliers and/or renegotiation of existing contracts to accomplish lowest total system cost and savings objectives. Assists in the development of negotiation strategies, alignment from stakeholders, participate in cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implementing appropriate supplier risk analysis.

  • Develops short-term and long-term category specific strategies that align with the Company goals for reducing costs and meeting financial expectation, while managing vendor relationships.

  • Drive consolidation of spend and seek out synergies across Business Units where applicable, by forming and leading cross-functional strategic sourcing teams to develop and implement category/commodity strategies and to drive cost from individual spend sub-categories; consults with Sr. Management, and other subject matter experts to develop alternative solutions; advises on options, risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts. Monitor contracts and advise business on renewals, terminations, extensions, etc. according to established strategic plans.

  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.

  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.

  • Estimate and anticipate risks and apply risk avoidance techniques.

  • Support Vendor Assurance team in identifying and implementing process enhancements for program and database maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven work experience as a Category Manager, Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager

  • Experience communicating with cross functional groups such as internal stakeholders, various internal business units, vendors, as well as Sr. Management

  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software

  • Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement

  • Strong project management and leadership skills

  • Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.

  • Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.

  • Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
