Your Opportunity

We have an immediate need for a Junior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance Consultant. The location for this position is in our Roseville, California office. The successful candidate will support project teams that assist Stantec’s clients to meet EHS regulatory requirements and maintain effective management systems.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Daily communication with field staff and documentation of client and Stantec-specific EHS requirements

  • Tracking EHS requirements and preparing reports/deliverables for clients and project teams

  • Review and understand the application of Stantec and client EHS requirements, Federal and California OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements

  • Assisting in the development and communication of EHS compliance programs

  • Supporting performance of environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance and program audits

  • Interacting with project managers, EHS team members, and clients to meet task and budget requirements

  • You will be trained to take on increasing responsibility within the project and EHS teams completing projects and proposals and will work closely with and support senior EHS practitioners and project managers.

  • Travel may be required for the purpose of conducting EHS assessments, on-site EHS support, or for off-site meetings with clients and/or regulatory agencies

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills

  • Practical ability to analyze technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and problem solve

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills

  • Strong report and procedure writing skills

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with daily required tasks

  • Ability to work in a team setting and individually

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office® products and web-based applications

  • An interest in and/or an understanding of Behavior-Based Safety Programs and Risk Mitigation

  • An interest in and/or experience with development and implementation of EHS programs and procedures

  • This position may require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Annual and/or random drug screening may be required by some clients.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Occupational Health is preferred

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in an EHS field, construction safety field, and/or Behavior-Based Safety Program development and management role

  • OSHA 30-hour construction industry or 10-hour construction safety certification recommended

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred

  • Desire to acquire Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) (or similar) certification

Salary Range(s):

  • CA Other Areas $30.00 Per Hour - CA Other Areas $41.97 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
