Under minimal supervision, the Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring full compliance and registration for all motor vehicles and motor vehicle operations within PRIDE, implementation and oversight of the maintenance program, vehicle pricing and purchasing as well as driver registration, insurance and certifications. Employees in this job class are also responsible for market base profitability, fleet activity and preparation of vehicle and/or driver audits. This job class requires knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
*Manage fleet and maintenance activities within assigned areas.
*Monitor costs, training and safety standards.
*Audit vehicle inventory and track activity to meet business needs.
*Oversight of vehicle reliability and preventative maintenance.
*Ensure all required safety training programs and records are current.
*Create policy for inspections, registrations and insurance coverage.
*Conduct fleet evaluations and maintain fleet quality program.
*Manage purchase requests and vehicle usage requests.
Conduct on-site inspections of all terminals to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
*Maintain DOT and CHP regulatory compliance documentation.
*Provide accident data analysis and recommend improvement plans.
*Ensure capital equipment requisitions meet corporate guidelines.
*Set financial targets to align with operating plans and fleet standards.
*Advise departments of regulations and record keeping requirements.
*Manage effective utilization of vehicle assets.
*Ensure training and quality integrity of the maintenance staff.
*Provide vendor and purchasing expertise and budget oversight.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Minimum of five years progressively responsible fleet management experience (400+ fleet);
• Previous experience with commercial vehicles and DOT and CHP compliance;
• Experience preparing and managing budgets;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;
• Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;
• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
• Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
• Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;
• Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.
Bachelors in Business Administration or related field
A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:

Valid Driver's License
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
• Viewing computer screen/monitor
• Utilizing keyboard
• Answering phone/making calls
Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise.
