United States Fleet Forces Command SOCIAL WORKER (CLINICAL) in Rota, Spain
Summary You will serve as a SOCIAL WORKER (CLINICAL) in the EOD Group TWO STRIKE Program of EXPLSV ORD DISP GROUP TWO Rota, Spain. Responsibilities You will make independent decisions and being accountable for recommendations for actions that can have serious impact on the life of the client served. You will make differential diagnoses (using Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders: DSM) across the full range of psychological issues and disorders. You will plan and perform treatment for a wide range of psychological disorders and psychological aspects of physical disorders. You will give interpretations of evaluations to Medical Officers and Commanders for their use in reaching decision. You will collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs. You will provide advisement to supported Chain of Command and briefs to groups of service members and their families as SME in mental health. You will act as liaison between chain of command and other programs of service to the same group of clients. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Collecting client information to provide mental health services; 2) Applying medico-legal requirements and military regulations to ensure work is consistent with standards; 3)Providing assessment and treatment for various mental health issues (e.g. PTSD, grief, adjustment to physical injuries and disorders, anger/aggression) and 4) Acting as a liaison to represent Mental Health programs at conferences, other agencies, clients and commands. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Master's degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master's degree in social work that included a practicum are eligible for GS-9. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT. This position is a TIER ONE clinical care provider. Applicants must possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8: 1. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR 2. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR 3. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR 4. Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship. Incumbent must be eligible for and be granted clinical healthcare practitioner privileges as specified in DoD 6025.13-R.
