Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics Operations, the Assistant Manager is responsible for the supervision of the aquatics program, personnel management, and various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

· Enforces all facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

· Handles emergency situations, rescues and other incidents which may occur.

· Assists with scheduling staff for all pool programs.

· Trains and evaluates lifeguards for job responsibilities.

· Finds coverage for any aquatic job that may need filling due to staff illness, emergency or lack of staff.

· Interviews potential candidates for aquatic positions.

· Hires and trains aquatic staff within the department.

· Conducts staff meetings and training sessions.

· Organizes aquatic records, equipment, and manuals.

· Recommends the purchase of aquatic equipment.

· Inspects program equipment and facilities for safety hazards and recommends corrective action.

· Updates and implements departmental procedures manual.

· Performs other related work as required.

*Qualifications: *Current certification in the following (or ability to obtain within three months of employment)

· Ellis Lifeguard & Vanguard Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain)

· Previous experience in scheduling and coordinating activities.

· Experience teaching lifeguard training or other related classes.

· Must be willing to work flexible hours.

· Have the ability to work under pressure

· Ability to stand, sit, walk, and swim throughout an eight-hour day.

· Strong swimming skills.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
