Bluebonnet Trails Community Services Occupational Therapist (OT) in ROUND ROCK, Texas

The Occupational therapist provides early intervention services to infants, toddlers and families so that the child will progress in the acquisition and mastery of functional skills in order to reduce or overcome limitations resulting from disabilities or developmental delays. Services are provided in the natural environment (e.g. home, daycare, community-settings, telehealth).

Requirements of early intervention service provision come under the authority of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and are regulated by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.

Essential tasks include participation as a member of an interdisciplinary team to evaluate, assess, determine eligibility, develop and carry out treatment plans, document progress and required processes, educate families and community partners, collaborate with physicians and other care providers, maintain required records, and meet requirement of the profession of Occupational Therapist.

Location: Round Rock

Salary: $40.39 - $47.14/hr

Applicable Differentials:

Up to $2.00/hour - previous community center experience in a similar position

Up to $4.00/hour - tenure with BTCS

.75/hour - Bilingual

Has potential to earn $200 service delivery incentives monthly

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university and current licensure to practice occupational therapy in Texas. Valid Texas drivers license and maintain approved drivers status throughout employment. Knowledge of and experience working with infants and toddlers with developmental needs.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferably, 1+ years of experience providing Occupational therapy to young children and coaching families Comprehensive knowledge of Comprehensive knowledge of typical and atypical development in children birth to three years old Comprehensive knowledge of childhood conditions that relate to the provision of early intervention services Comprehensive knowledge of and understanding of team and family dynamics. Ability to contribute as a leader and facilitator on teams which include parents, caregivers, and other professional staff. Ability to perform under minimal supervision with considerable requirements for initiative, discretion, independent thought, judgment and self-motivation in matters of significance to families as well as the agency. Well-developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, time management/organization skills, and basic computer skills. Ability to comprehend and adhere to family-centered, activity-based early intervention practices. Ability to work sensitively with families from a variety of cultural orientations. Preferred: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish
