If you are a Safety, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering or related field looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! This role is an exciting opportunity to support the HVACR Americas business and is based in our Rushville, IN location.

AS A SAFETY CO-OP, RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO YOU:

• Reviewing and supporting updates to a variety of formal safety programs (i.e. Lockout, Fall Protection, GHS, etc.)

• Performing safety surveys and engaging employees in their work

• Completing and updating the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for Rushville, Indiana

• Supporting the development and implementation of continuous improvement of safety processes

• Performing a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) student and presenting the results

• Assisting and leading projects under the supervision of the site Safety Leader

WHO YOU ARE:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, Ergonomics, or related field

• Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester

• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree

• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

• Sophomore or higher class standing

• Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office

• Previous Co-op or Intern Experience with Copeland or another company
