Job Summary:

The Material Supervisor is responsible for the planning, organizing and controlling of the receiving, raw material storage, material flow, and shipping to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas. In addition, this position is accountable for helping support inventory accuracy and cycle counting routines to drive accurate perpetual records.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of all hourly material handlers as well as the shipping and receiving clerks.

  • Responsible for all internal movement of material, purchased and fabricated

  • Ability to lead cross functional team in Lean principles one of which is developing a Plan For Every Part (PFEP) for each item in the value stream.

  • Ensure timely unloading, receiving, storage and delivery of material to the production areas

  • Maintains inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate shipping and receiving, and ensures safety/operational guidelines are met

  • Responsible for supporting the annual physical inventory

  • Support cycle count standard work goals

  • Implement and enforce standard work across the departmental functions

  • Drive continuous improvement activities in all functional areas

  • Provide leadership in selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental functions

  • Manage carriers that support receiving and shipping functions

  • Organize activities & assigning jobs accordingly to the staff requirements

  • Motivate staff to make an effective and efficient team

  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating

  • Evaluate the warehouse activities for accuracy and quality

  • Optimize shipping and Receiving processes

  • Setting up and evaluating performance standards, like coaching on performance and providing job instructions and standard work

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; will consider experience in lieu of a degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) desirable

  • Prefer 3 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with rate-based or flow line manufacturing environments

  • Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes

  • Experience with visual management systems.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc.

  • Capacity planning, master scheduling, and production control is a plus

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong business acumen

Base Pay : $60,000 - 90,000
