About the Role:
[]{#_GoBack}The position is responsible for providing in-home, family-based support services to families of domestic violence, substance abuse, abused and/or neglected children, and/or families with severely emotionally disturbed children. The IFBS case manager will provide family-focused services to the parents of children involved with Department of Children and Families (DCF) or other identified families. The overall goal of services is to strengthen parenting skills, emotional responsiveness, and improve communication within the family. All services provided will follow the guidelines defined in the DCF Grant. The case manager will develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external professional staff to provide coordinated, quality services.
Responsibilities:
Provide weekly in-home parenting support, therapeutic interventions, and psychoeducation to clients family
Address risk factors as identified by DCF or from clinical assessment in an effort to assist family with reunification or to prevent further DCF involvement
Participate and attend all related school and provider meetings on behalf of the child and/or family
Extensive collaboration across community agencies and other RMH providers
Comply with internal and DCF documentation requirements
Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with clients, families, referral sources, and community partners
Participate in supervision as well as team, department, and agency staff meetings
Will accept and complete additional relevant duties as assigned by Supervisor
Will practice and present in a manner consistent with Agent Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in social work, human services, psychology, career counseling or a related field and four years of experience working with children/youth and parents and/or families.
Experience in psychological treatment of adults, children, and families
Experience or knowledge in family systems therapy approaches and complex/generational trauma
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
