Job Summary and Qualifications

* This is a Full Time Night shift position, 7pm-7am, with rotating weekends *

As a Monitor Tech, you will monitor, maintain, and interpret data from telemetry monitor systems for patients requiring cardiac telemetry.

What You Will Do in This Role:

• Performs patient care as assigned by the RN and reports observations, results of procedures, and patient/family needs to appropriate person

• Continuously observes patients on telemetry monitoring and reports any rhythm changes to the appropriate person(s)

• Utilizes time effectively to organize and assist in designated task consistent with educational training and patient care area requirements

• Performs technical skills and designated tasks as outlined during educational training and nursing unit requirements

• Performs receptionist duties in a courteous and cooperative manner in accordance with Star Service Standards

• Reports observations, results of procedures/lab work and patient/physician needs to the appropriate person(s)

• Documents pertinent data in a concise manner

• Delivers patient care and/or department service in a safe, competent, and efficient manner as determined by outcomes, quality monitors, and other internal and external processes.

• Follows established guidelines for compliance with Infection Prevention and TJC Patient Safety Goals and Practices.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School diploma graduate/GED

• Certified as a Telemetry technician by recognized program or the hospital identified equivalent work experience

• BLS - Basic Life Support obtained by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• Previous PCU monitoring experience preferred

• 1 year hospital experience preferred

• Must successfully pass EKG exam
