Description

Position Summary:

The Communications Specialist shares the voice of our brand, creating compelling content for both internal and external audiences. From managing crisis communications to leading the charge on the company intranet, email marketing, press releases, and branch merchandising, this role ensures our message is clear, engaging, and always on brand.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides professional, courteous and efficient service to all internal and external customers.
  2. Crafts and edits compelling copy and content for internal and external audiences to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice and messaging.
  3. Facilitates communication response during crisis, incident, or inclement weather situations, managing communication between internal stakeholders, crafting and posting communications for both internal and external audiences, and monitoring communications channels to ensure timely and effective response.
  4. Leads the ongoing development, utilization, and content management of the company intranet, driving cross-functional initiatives to optimize its functionality, effectiveness, and user engagement.
  5. Administers Email Marketing program by creating, sending, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting on customer email communications.
  6. Writes and distributes press releases for news publications, preparing media alerts, establishing and securing speaking engagements and facilitating other publicity opportunities.
  7. Maintains branch merchandising program, including training on current initiatives, distribution of all marketing materials, and ensuring timely placement of all materials and displays.
  8. Assists with upkeep, content revision, optimization, and updates for multiple websites (Bank, Insurance Agency and Financial Services division) with a focus on customer experience.
  9. Administers and assists with development of online review and testimonial programs.
  10. Designs and distributes informational signage for branch network.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as backup to Social Media Marketer, and contributes social media leads and content.
  2. Complies with and maintains current knowledge of all applicable federal and state banking regulations, as well as with all bank and department policies and procedures.
  3. Performs additional duties and handles special projects as required.
  4. Serves on various committees as assigned.
  5. Attends all required meetings and training.

Position Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent; with a bachelors degree in communications, or related field preferred.
  2. Experience in communications, marketing or related roles a plus.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling content.
  4. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology programs or systems.
  5. Proven ability to deliver quality work during crisis situations.
  6. Experience with content management systems and email marketing tools preferred.
  7. Strong attention to detail, dependability, and confidentiality.
  8. Ability to read/see documents and computer screens, to communicate in person and via the telephone and use a computer and other office equipment.
  9. Some evenings and/or weekends required.
  10. Proficient skills with MS Office, SharePoint and Power Point.
  11. Experience with HubSpot, Adobe Creative Cloud programs a plus.
  12. Ability to quickly adapt to changes in priorities.
  13. Ability to travel to all Bank locations.

Working Conditions:

  1. Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  2. Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis.
  3. Extensive operation of computers and other office equipment requiring dexterity and coordination and frequent use of hands.
  4. Ability to lift items weighing approximately thirty-five pounds.
