Amanda Warren with Robert Half is seeking candidates for a full-time Staff Accountant position, which will become a critical part of an innovative company. To thrive in this position, you will need to be driven by a challenging work environment with many components. This Staff Accountant position is for candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To thrive in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Located in the Sacramento, California area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. What you get to do every single day
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Requirements
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Journal entries experience highly desired
General ledger experience
Proficiency in bank reconciliations
Adeptness in month end closings
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
ERP system experience
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
