Job Description and Duties
The CalSTRS IT Infrastructure & Operations Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Information Technology Supervisor II in the System & Security Administration Unit.
The Technology Services Branch is committed to providing quality and timely technical support and services to the organization. Technology Services provides resources to successfully meet the technical demands of the organization.
The System & Security Administration Unit provides centralized system and security administration services such as user access management and administration across enterprise IT solutions.
Under general direction of the Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations, the Information Technology Supervisor ll operates as the System and Security Administration Manager and is responsible for organizing and directing the staff and work of the System and Security Administration (SSA) team. The incumbent works closely with the IT Operations and IT Infrastructure teams to ensure customers receive quality products and services. The incumbent also demonstrates value using best practices in the delivery of end-user IT services and support.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience managing projects/efforts involving cross functional teams and vendors
Experience creating budget, Statement of Work and solicitation (e.g., RFO, RFP, etc.)
Experience supporting Windows Active Directory and security groups
Experience supporting SaaS, COTS and custom developed solutions
Experience working in different phases of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Knowledge of IT Service Management processes (i.e., incident, problem, change, etc.)
Experience with relational databases and programming or scripting languages
Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
Telework Information: We offer a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2-3 days per week.

Working Conditions
All staff of CalSTRS are employees of the State of California and subject to California employment taxes and withholdings. Upon appointment, staff are required to provide a current California address to CalSTRS Human Resources to be used as a remote work location.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment with CalSTRS.

Statement of Qualifications

Background Investigation
Prior to employment with CalSTRS, a background investigation (BI) will be conducted. The BI consists of a Personal History Statement and fingerprinting through the Department of Justice. The BI will check criminal and civil records and, if applicable, verify education and check driving records.
