City of Safety Harbor Streets/Stormwater Maintenance Foreman in Safety Harbor, Florida
Must have the following in order to apply:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; two (2) years supervisory responsibility in a streets/stormwaterenvironment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the requiredknowledge, skills, and abilities
- Possession of Florida Stormwater Association (FSA) Level 1Certification
- Sediment and Erosion Control Certification
- Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic(MOT) Certification
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, with Tanker Endorsement.No Valid CDL with proper endorsement(s) - CDL Permit within six (6) months from date of hire, and valid CDL with endorsements within eighteen (18) months from date of hire. Employees without a valid CDL and required endorsements on their date of hire will serve an extended probation until the valid CDL and endorsements are obtained, to include necessary training and classroom time and will not exceed eighteen (18) months from date of hire.
- Knowledge of the principles, philosophies, and practices of streets and storm water process administration
- Knowledge of management and supervisory techniques
- Knowledge of safety practices and safety equipment

- Ability to work a flexible schedule and extended hours as needed

Job Description: Under the direction of the Streets/Stormwater Maintenance Supervisor. Performs work involving the supervision and management of the construction, repair, and maintenance of the City's Streets and Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department. Responsibilities include the supervision of employees in subordinate positions. Performs and manages daily activities associated with the maintenance of the streets and stormwater systems in accordance with all applicable City codes and Departmental policies. Work is reviewed through reports, observations, and obtained results.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs and directsemployees in the operation and maintenance of facilities, property, equipment, and services assigned to the Streets/Stormwater Division.
- Supervises the day-to-day schedule of duties and crew assignments.
- Instructs personnel in operation and maintenance of equipment used to repair streets, sidewalks, curbs, and right-of-ways; and procedures necessary in the operation of streets and stormwater systems.
- Responds to and resolves citizen complaints.
- Participates in safety training programs; performs safety inspections.
- Facilitates safety precautions (barricades, cones, and warning signs) throughout the City.
- Aids in setting concrete forms, laying concrete, drainage pipes, asphalt, brick, soil, rock, and sod.
- Fabricates and installs street signs.
- Maintains City drainage ditches, creeks, storm drains, right-of-ways, and retention ponds.
- Plan, prioritize, schedule and supervise the work of others.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with other City Departments, subordinates, superiors, other public agencies, and vendors.
- Review, analyze, and interpret data.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: Works inside in an office environment and outside under various weather conditions.
