Nexteer Automotive Functional Safety Engineer Domain Controller (PP) in Saginaw, Michigan

TITLE:Functional Safety Engineer Domain Controller

DUTIES:Nexteer Automotive Corporation seeks a Functional Safety Engineer Domain Controller based out of our office at 3900 E. Holland Road, Saginaw, MI 48601. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position does not require travel.

Apply the ISO 26262 functional safety process to systems such as electric power steering, domain controllers, and middleware or hypervisor software in development; Support the full lifecycle of the safety process - from concept and requirements through design and analysis to implementation and testing; Independently execute system safety activities for assigned projects related to SWaaP and domain controller independently develop safety requirements at multiple levels, including traceability; Independently execute safety analysis such as FTA, FMEDA, and FMEA; and Independently develop, document, and execute bench and vehicle test procedures including fault injection testing.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Systems Management, or Electronics Engineering and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: Experience with automotive, electronics, safety and embedded software; experience with automotive engineering and chassis systems; experience with ISO26262, IEC 61508 or similar; experience with spreadsheets and simulation tools; and experience with automotive embedded systems, hardware, and/or software.
