Northrop Grumman's Payload and Ground Systems Cutting Edge Optronics Business Unit is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This role will be onsite in Saint Charles, MO and will lead a team of two accountants. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to handle multiple assignments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounting Functions of General Ledger, AR, AP, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Tax

  • Supervise a staff of two accountants

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes, including assigned journal entries, accruals, and overall maintenance of general-ledger accounts

  • Prepare financial reports and verify accuracy of the data

  • Review travel & expense (T&E) reports and weekly AP check runs

  • Review bi-weekly Payroll

  • Manage intercompany billings and allocations

  • Provide accounting guidance to functional departments

  • Review and oversee ERP user access & internal controls

  • Research of GAAP and tax law changes and financial impacts

  • Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

  • Identify cost savings opportunities and process efficiencies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of general accounting experience - OR - Master's degree with 4+ years of general accounting experience

  • Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree

  • General ledger or fixed asset experience

  • Experience with MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or MBA

  • CPA or CMA certification

  • Accounts Payable (A/P) or Accounts Receivable (A/R) experience

  • Payroll experience

  • Tax experience

  • ERP experience, such as Visual Manufacturing

Salary Range: $95,000 - $142,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
