Job Overview

The Families That Flourish -- Reporting to the Lead Teacher, the Childcare Assistant is responsible for professional and positive attitude and loving demeanor with children ages groups infants, toddlers, preschool or school-age programs up to 12 years old. This position requires on-site, face-to-face leadership. The center's hours require full-time (40 hours/week), flexible scheduling between 6 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday. Multiple positions available. Part time 4 shifts available.

COMPENSATION

 $14.00 - $15.00; Full-Time; Non-Exempt (40 hours/week)

 

Responsibilities for a Childcare Assistant  

 

  1. Reliable
  2. Ability to float from classroom to classroom and supervise children from infant age to school age.
  3. Clean and maintain center areas.
  4. Assist children during activities.
  5. Prior experience working with children.
  6. Patience, flexibility and love for children
  7. Strong communication and time management skills
  8. Knowledge of child development and early childhood education-Training available!

Skills

 

Proven experience as a childcare / daycare teacher

Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience: Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)

Shift availability:

Day Shift (Preferred)

Work Location: In person.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Blood Borne Pathogen training.
  • CPR Certification required within the first 60 days.
  • First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days.
  • State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
  • Fingerprinting
  • DHS clearance
  • Negative T.B. skin test
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition.
  • Effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities.
  • Demonstrable record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the top priority.
