Homeless Helping Homeless Executive Director of Homeless Helping Homeless Charity and Low Barrier Shelter in Saint Cloud, Minnesota
Organization Overview: We are a low-barrier homeless shelter serving the counties of Stearns, Benton, Sherburne in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Our mission is to provide essential services, including food, clothing, shelter, and access to resources, for individuals experiencing homelessness, particularly those facing mental health challenges and addiction. Position Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for the comprehensive management and leadership of the shelter, known as Lincoln Center, as well as the 501(c)3 Charity Homeless Helping Homeless which manages it. This role includes the recruitment and training of staff, organizational promotion, oversight of financial operations, grant writing, and fundraising. The Executive Director will also cultivate and maintain relationships with service providers, governmental agencies, and community organizations. In collaboration with the Board of Directors and staff, the Executive Director will establish the vision and set policies and procedures for the shelter. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Provide a dignified, affirming, and supportive environment for individuals coming off the streets who have experienced significant trauma and chronic homelessness. Ensure the shelter is adequately staffed with trained employees and volunteers, overseeing recruitment, hiring, and mentoring. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed records of shelter activities, resident participation, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Financial Oversight: Ensure the financial stability of the organization by working closely with the Board Treasurer on financial reporting, budgeting, and record keeping. This includes managing payroll, scheduling staff, and overseeing financial operations. Fundraising and Grant Writing: Lead efforts in fundraising, grant writing, and securing volunteers and in-kind donations to support the shelter s mission. Build and maintain a strong donor base, including donor recognition and stewardship. Board and Community Relations: Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings, presenting the Executive Director s report and engaging in strategic discussions. Regularly communicate with the City of Saint Cloud Council and participate in neighborhood meetings to discuss community relations and shelter impact. Public Relations and Outreach: Oversee public relations efforts, including media outreach, to promote the organization s mission and programs.
