Calibration Technician

 

*Functional Scope: * Perform necessary operations for the development of new products/processes including various testing and electrical set up.

 

Position Specifications: 2-year technical degree or 4 years relevant experience.  Work with a high degree of accuracy, analytical aptitude, mathematics, problem solving, ability to record process/product data/records, and basic understanding of electrical circuitry/schematics/SPC and apply in testing of assemblies.

 

*Essential Functions: *

  • Regular attendance
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without accommodations
  • Read/understand/follow appropriate procedures/process sheets/electrical circuits to operate/set up assigned equipment and/or complete assigned tasks
  • Manufacture quality products through effective use of process and/or process measuring equipment including electronic & mechanical assemblies, wire harnesses and test fixtures.
  • Effective use of assembly equipment including soldering, crimping, potting, welding, etc. with the understanding that additional assembly techniques may drive the need to learn new skills.
  • Use physical/electronic measuring equipment and appropriate procedures then correctly record, interpret and maintain applicable product/process information
  • Understand the purpose of the testing equipment operated and recognize when data obtained may be incorrect.  Make appropriate adjustments on equipment being used to maintain control conditions.
  • Understand thermistor manufacturing steps
  • Work effectively with other functional areas to guarantee quality products
  • Notify management when procedures/process/control documents cannot be followed as written
  • Complete accurate testing through effective use of product, process and analytical measuring equipment
  • Provide assistance in drafting new/revising old procedures
  • Operate and understand general principle of incoming inspection instrumentation and processes
  • Perform calibration and limited maintenance tasks on lab instrumentation
  • Understand product Bill of Materials and general construction of sensors with guidance of engineers
  • Perform various testing on samples; electrical, physical, monitor thermal shock, leakage, special tests, etc.
  • Ability to Complete Test reports using computer software programs and have a general knowledge of computers and applications.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and work safely.
