Actalent Controls Engineer in SAINT PAUL, Minnesota

Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

Join our team as a Controls Engineer, where you will participate on cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative and feasible design concepts for special equipment or components that meet project requirements and cost constraints. You will be responsible for satisfying the controls design requirements, preparing electrical drawings and control panel layouts, programming PLCs and HMIs, maintaining and developing corporate design standards, providing technical support to customers, and promoting positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.

Hard Skills

  • PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell and Siemens)

  • AutoCAD Electrical - Control panel layout

  • UL certification knowledge

  • Process Controls

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams

  • Innovative thinking

  • Technical support proficiency

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in SAINT PAUL, Minnesota and some days remote.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule with 30% travel to customer sites. Typical office environment with flexible hours, occasional work in panel shop, and participation in 24/7 Support Team coverage on a rotational basis, which requires night and weekend availability. On-site trips involve exposure to typical rubber compounding facility environments, with PPE requirements.
