Job Summary

Responsible for the management & oversight of the Nuclear Security Performance Improvement and Programs for the Department. Accountable to provide guidance and oversight to the security organization to ensure all security programs meet station and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the effective application and implementation of the Corrective Action Program, all aspects of Security Learning Programs as well as the four (4) Security Cornerstone Programs; Target Sets, Safety Security Interface, Unattended Openings, and the Safeguards Overview Program.

In-office expectation - at least 8x a month

Job Responsibilities

  • Have direct oversight of long-term equipment reliability and lifecycle management, day-to-day support for addressing equipment issues. Additionally have oversight in the following areas;

  • Operating Experience

  • Benchmarking

  • Department MRM

  • CAP (attendance at SOC and MRC) and Corrective Action/Product Review (CACB) – supporting a self-identifying/self-correcting culture.

  • Review of regulatory change implementation

  • Procedure Quality Review Program

  • Nuclear Safety Culture Monitoring Panel (NSCMP)

  • Department Observation Program – to include development and management of manager in the field schedule, observation data reviews and support of action plan development based on observation data.

  • The PI&PM will also assist the Security Director and SLT in the facilitation of strategy and challenge meetings across both the Nuclear Security Organization and Salem-Hope Creek Nuclear Fleet in order to identify, mitigate, prevent and arrest program, process, and performance gaps. The forums by which these meetings take place are through Department Management Review Meetings (MRMs), Corrective Action Review Boards (CACB), Fundamental Management System (FMS) Meetings, Safety Security Interface scheduled and projected Work Week, as well as Station Overview Committee and Management Review Committee Meetings.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10 or more years’ of relevant experience

  • Thorough knowledge of the Nuclear Security Federal Code of Regulations

  • Thorough knowledge of the Nuclear Corrective Action Program

  • Broad knowledge of security protocols, best practices, and procedures

  • Excellent presentation, analytical, and communication skills, both written and oral, are required to synthesize key issues, and communicate/persuade key stakeholders towards specific actions and initiatives

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Desired
