Job Summary: The Area Scheduling Manager is a pivotal role at the heart of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that production schedules are optimized for efficiency and aligned with company goals. This individual will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to capacity planning, work center management, and order prioritization, playing a key role in driving productivity and meeting customer demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Capacity Planning: Centralize and enhance capacity planning efforts to strategically allocate resources, prevent bottlenecks, and optimize equipment and labor utilization.

  • Order Scheduling and Prioritization: Lead the scheduling team to ensure orders are processed in the correct sequence, minimizing delays and maximizing throughput.

  • Cross-functional Team Coordination: Act as a liaison between production, inventory, and other departments to align priorities, improve communication, and facilitate smooth production flow.

  • Team Leadership and Accountability: Provide direction and oversight to the scheduling team, setting performance targets and managing scheduling issues effectively.

  • Scalability and Process Improvement: Scale operations to meet increasing production demands and implement continuous improvements using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

    Essential Functions:

  • Develop comprehensive production schedules based on customer demand, resource availability, and operational priorities.

  • Balance workloads across work centers to maintain optimal productivity levels.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure material availability and timely shipping.

  • Monitor and adjust production schedules to respond to unforeseen changes.

  • Analyze data and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive decision-making.

  • Lead and develop the scheduling team, providing training and mentorship.

  • Resolve capacity and scheduling conflicts through negotiation and creative problem-solving.

  • Optimize the use of scheduling software and ERP systems for efficient operations.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAP ERP Central Component, Manufacturing Execution, and Team Center PLM.

  • +5 years Strong analytical skills with proficiency in capacity planning within manufacturing or production environments.

  • +5 years Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.

  • +5 years Proficiency in scheduling software/ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI experience is a plus.

  • Master's degree.

  • PMP or APICS certifications.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance.

    Note: The Area Scheduling Manager may be required to work overtime, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holidays, to meet operational demands.
